Instructions for battery disposal

In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:

As an end user, you are legally obligated to return used batteries. You can return used batteries that we currently or previously offered as new batteries in our product range free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:

The crossed-out trash can symbol means that the battery must not be disposed of in household waste.

Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass
Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass
Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass.

Special features when selling starter batteries

In connection with the sale of vehicle batteries, we are obligated under Section 10 of the German Battery Act (BattG) to collect a deposit of €7.50 including VAT for each vehicle battery purchased if you, as the end consumer, do not return a used vehicle battery at the time of purchase. This deposit is not included in the purchase price and will be shown separately next to the final price on the product page.

If you return a used vehicle battery to us that we currently stock or have previously stocked as a new battery in accordance with Section 9 of the German Battery Act (BattG), we are legally obligated to accept it free of charge and refund the deposit. If we have issued a deposit token in accordance with Section 10 Paragraph 1 Sentence 3 of the BattG, the refund of the deposit upon return of the used vehicle battery is contingent upon the return of the deposit token.

The return address is the address listed in the legal notice.

Returning used car batteries by mail is not permitted due to hazardous materials regulations. Alternatively, used car batteries can be dropped off free of charge at recycling centers and waste disposal sites. The deposit we collect is not refunded by these public recycling centers and waste disposal sites. However, you can have the return of your used car battery confirmed on the deposit slip at these sites. Upon presentation of this confirmed deposit slip, you will receive your battery deposit back from us.

Please note the above information.
